Hosting and security

Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, delivers this website. IP addresses, request times, requested URLs, browser information and technical connection data are processed to deliver pages and protect against attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in operating a functional, secure website. Cloudflare may process data outside the EU. Its privacy policy explains processing, retention and international transfer safeguards.

YouTube thumbnails and external links

Thumbnails of our channel videos load from i.ytimg.com, a Google/YouTube service. This transmits your IP address and technical connection data to that service. The images connect our written reviews with the published videos, based on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not automatically embed YouTube video players. Clicking a video link opens YouTube. See Google's privacy policy.

Amazon affiliate links

Links marked as advertising lead to Amazon. Clicking them transmits our affiliate identifier in the URL, allowing qualifying purchases to be attributed to us. We do not embed Amazon scripts or product images on this website. Subsequent processing on Amazon is governed by the privacy notices for Amazon.de or Amazon.com.

Email contact

When you email us, we process your email address, message and any other supplied information to respond. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies to contractual enquiries; otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies. Messages are deleted when they are no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations or legitimate reasons require continued retention.

Cookies, analytics and search

We do not operate our own analytics or advertising tracking scripts. Search runs in your browser; search terms may appear in the page URL and consequently in server requests. Necessary security mechanisms provided by the hosting service may be used during security checks.

Your rights

Subject to the relevant legal conditions, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it for the future.
